What is the name of the traditional Māori instrument, a carved wooden flute with a haunting, breathy tone, made from wood, bone, or stone?

The kōauau is a small end-blown flute, typically between 10 and 20 centimetres long, with three finger holes. It was often carved with intricate designs and worn around the neck as a personal treasure.
