Privacy Policy
What Culture Arena collects, why, and how to delete it.
Last updated August 2026.
Information we collect
When you create an account: your email address, password (stored as a one-way hash — we never see or store your actual password), gamertag, and optionally your first/last name, phone number and profile photo. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple instead, that provider shares your name, email and profile photo with us, subject to your own settings with them. While you play: your matches, scores, answers, streaks and which categories and countries you played, all tied to your account so we can show your stats and rank you on the leaderboard. Automatically: your device platform (web, Android or iOS), approximate location (country/city, derived from your connection), browser or app version, and — only if you turn on notifications in the native app — a push-notification token for your device.
How we use it
To run the game: sign you in, score your matches, keep leaderboards accurate, and show your display name (never your email or real name) next to your rank. To reach you if you ask us to: replying to the Contact and Suggest forms, or sending a match invite push notification if you've enabled them. To keep the service reliable and secure, including detecting abuse.
Sharing and hosting
We do not sell your personal data. Culture Arena is hosted on Microsoft Azure, which stores and processes data on our behalf under its own security commitments. If you sign in with a social provider, that sign-in itself is handled directly between you and that provider (Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple) — we only receive the profile fields they share.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see below), your personal details are removed or anonymized right away; anonymized gameplay totals may be kept so other players' own match history and public leaderboards stay intact.
Your rights and account deletion
You can review and correct your profile at any time from Profile settings. You can delete your account and personal data in either of two ways: from inside the app, at Profile → Delete my account; or without installing the app at all, using the web page linked below. Either way, deletion happens immediately: your email, real name, phone number and photo are erased, your password can no longer be used to sign in, and your gamertag is freed for someone else to claim. Matches you played that other players' own history or public leaderboards depend on stay on record so we don't erase other people's data along with yours, but they're no longer linked to your identity and stop counting toward any leaderboard.
Children's privacy
Culture Arena is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under that age.
Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game changes. Changes take effect as soon as they're posted here.
